Sericulture is considered to be one of the major important content of biology for grade 10 students. Students visited sericulture farm on 14 June 2019, Thursday located at Khopasi, Panauti. In the trip to sericulture student observed and learned about different stages of lifecycle of silkworm and its feeding process. They observed morphology and extraction process of the silk thread through the cocoon.

silkworm was domesticated from the wild silkmoth .Bombyx mandarina
which has a range fromnorthern India to northern China, Korea, Japan and far the eastern regions of Russia. The domesticatedsilkworm derives from Chinese rather than Japanese or Korean stock .It is unlikely that silkwormswere domestically bred before theNeolithicage.
